The Best is Yet to Come is originally the main theme song for the first Metal Gear Solid game for the PSX. Any fan of the Metal Gear Solid series had to get goose-bumps when Snake revisits Shadow Moses and this plays in the background. It’s sung by Aoife Ní Fhearraig, an Irish singer/composer, and was written by Rika Muranaka, who also arranged music for Metal Gear Solid 2 and 3.

The song itself is hauntingly beautiful. I love how it opens up soft and then goes into a steady rhythm throughout. I’m also a sucker for Latin/Japanese/Indian lyrics. Sometimes not knowing the meaning helps me pay more attention to the actual emotion of the song and just strengthens it more.
